Virtual Paris Men’s Fashion Week Highlights You May Have Missed

Major luxury fashion houses were tested after the global pandemic crippled the industry; however, Paris Men's Fashion Week made a loud bang this 2021.

In early 2020, several fashion shows and events were put on hold, this includes Giorgio Armani's Autumn/Winter 2020 runway show in Dubai, which was set on April 19th and 20th.

It was then followed by Versace's cancellation of "Cruise' Collection" in the United States in mid-May due to "restrictive measures relating to international mobility."

Joining the list of designers who are delaying their launch are the Italian brands Prada and Gucci, who also announced the delay of their runway shows.

Interestingly, as the economy slowly bounced back, some sectors, including the fashion industry, adapted to the fast phase lifestyle while following the new normal.

Just recently, Paris Men's Fashion Week showcased a virtual show from three global rosters of fashion designers--Hermès, Louis Vuitton, and Dior.

Intending to interpret our new lives, these major luxury fashion houses debuted their live-streamed shows on YouTube. With this, the brands also reached a ton of crows through the platform's large audience.

Louis Vuitton Malletier, commonly known as LV, brought their newest men's collection right in the comfort of everyone's home.

The French luxury powerhouse, led by the men's artistic director Virgil Abloh, their theme "Peculiar Contrast, Perfect Light," recently debuted on YouTube.

Taken at the Tennis Club de Paris, the 14-minute film explores "the unconscious biases instilled in our collective psyche by the archaic norms of society," as explained by Abloh.

From neutrals to bright green ensembles, the new collection showcased a mix of classic and modern pieces.

Aside from their jaw-dropping fashion show, Louis Vuitton features an artistic film highly influenced by African-American writer James Baldwin's essay "Stranger in the Village."
