Since the release of the last 'Bond' film "Spectre" in 2015, there have been many speculations on who would play the next James Bond as Daniel Craig has announced that he would like to move on. However, if the reports are to be believed, the 49-year-old actor may return for his fifth Bond movie.
As reported by The Week, Craig and Bond producer Barbara Broccoli have been interacting a lot over continuing the franchise with the actor during the production of Othello, which seems to be going in a right direction. "They have the script - screenwriting duo Neal Purvis and Robert Wade are writing and the production will start as soon as Daniel is ready to commit," revealed a close source.
After the release of "Spectre", Craig said that he would rather slash his own wrists than continue his license to kill again. And when asked who should take the role, the actor answered he simply doesn't care, reports Page Six. Craig's statement resulted in many speculations on who would play the next Bond. According to Birmingham Mail, names such as Idris Elba, James Norton, Jamie Bell, Aidan Turner, Tom Hardy, Tom Hiddleston and even Vicky McClure were rumored to be in the chase of acquiring the role.
It was also reported that Tom Hiddleston may apparently be out of the contest as Broccoli doesn't like the "The Avengers" actor and stated that he is not tough enough to play Bond. In a recent interview, former 007 star Pierce Brosnan also backed Craig to continue playing the spy until the age catches to him. No matter what, it certainly seems that things are going quite smooth and the fans may witness Craig again wearing that dashing black suit with a .24 caliber gun and impressing hot ladies.
Craig has previously portrayed the role of Bond in "Casino Royale", "Quantum of Solace", "Skyfall" and most recent "Spectre".
