In a career that spanned over 37 years, Ben Affleck has seen many successes and failures, failures that also include alcohol addiction and a stint in rehab.
Affleck announced on Tuesday through a Facebook post about his time in rehab, stating he has completed treatment for alcohol addiction, something he has dealt with in the past and still continued to face before the treatment. "I want to live my life to the fullest, and want to become the best father I can be. I want my children to know there is no shame in reaching out for help when you need it, and to be the source of strength for anyone who needs help but is terrified to take the first step," he posted, as reported by the People.
According to E! News, the "Argo" star also thanked his former wife Jennifer Garner, with whom he has three children with: Samuel, 3, Violet, 9 and Seraphina, 6. The former Hollywood couple separated in 2015, but the official paperwork hasn't been done and they are still living in the same house for the sake of their children.
"I am lucky to have the love of my family and friends, including my co-parent, Jen, who was always with me and cared for our kids as I've done the work I set out to do. This was my first of many steps for healthy and positive recovery," Afflect stated.
Such statement certainly takes guts to reveal and Affleck seems to be moving in the right direction. The actor has seen the rough phase of life and everyone, including Garner and his fans, want to see the star continue his professional career with the same dedication he has always shown.
The 44-year-old actor came to fame in the movie "Good Will Hunting" with close friend Matt Damon.
