Vin Diesel announced that "Furious 8" will hit theaters on Apr. 14, 2017, during the Universal Pictures' panel at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Thursday.
The 47-year-old actor confirmed that this franchise will arrive as a follow-up to "Furious 7," Entertainment Weekly learned.
The "Riddick" actor was emotional while talking about his late friend and co-star, Paul Walker.
"The last time I was on this stage I was with my brother Pablo," the One Race Films founder said.
"I swear to you and I swear to my brother upstairs we're going to make the best movie you've ever seen," he added.
This film will be the eighth "Fast & Furious" installment and the first without Paul Walker, who passed away in November 2013 before "Furious 7" was completed, CBS News reported.
Walker was a passenger in a Porsche Carrera CT when it crashed into a concrete lamppost and two trees in Valencia, California.
The "Brick Mansions" actor and Roger Rodas, who was the driver, died instantaneously after the car burst into flame, according to Daily Mail.
The hard work of the cast and crew really paid off because "Furious 7" reigned the box office since it was released on Apr. 3. The film has an estimated worldwide income of $1.15 billion.
Meanwhile, the brotherhood of Diesel and Walker lives on, as the "xXx" actor continues to remember him even in simple posts.
"To celebrate success, when it represents such loss... Brotherhood... Today we must count our blessings, while never forgetting the blessings of yesterday," Diesel wrote on Instagram, Monday.
Diesel shared another snap on Wednesday, captioned: "Even when alone.... An army of angels are abound." Obviously, he was referring to Walker.
On the same day that Diesel dropped the release date of "Furious 8," he posted a picture of his daughter with Walker.
"The dark road ahead... Your light will guide us... Uncle Pablo," he captioned the photo.
