The frontman of post-grunge band Puddle of Mudd was arrested at Denver International Airport on Friday after allegedly riding a baggage carousel, according to a Billboard report.
Wesley Scantlin, 42, was said to have mounted the baggage carousel and took it into a restricted are of the area of the airport. Police arrested the musician, who then went under investigation for trespassing while awaiting charges.
The four-piece band was in Denver for a concert at Casselman's Bar and Venue, according to 9News. They were said to be playing with local group Lola Black.
Police said they arrested the singer and guitarist after he was seen running behind baggage carousel and emerging from the "secured area through an alarmed door. The area, police said, bears signs that clearly state "keep out" and "do not ride carouse."
Scantlin was taken into custody at the north end of level 5 on the east side of the airport's main terminal.
The band arrived at the concert venue due to the scuffle, as mentioned by a fan in a Facebook post.
The gig's promoter, Rock Panther Presents, addressed the incident in a Facebook post that night.
"So if you haven't heard yet Wes the lead singer from Puddle of Mudd decided to take a joy ride on the carousel at the airport this morning thru restricted access and got arrested. We have been on this all day and he is just about to be released from jail and will head straight to the venue. The show will go on but that is why we are running late," read the post, appended with the hashtag "f---ingrockstars."
Scantlin was bailed out of jail by a fan, the promoter later announced. The band played hours later than scheduled.
"Those of you that stayed, I hope you love Puddle of Mudd because we will NEVER book them again," the promoter posted on Facebook after the gig.
Scantlin, who was arrested in 2013 for allegedly vandalizing his neighbor's patio using a chainsaw, has not been formally charged.
