Miley Cyrus Posts Topless Photo On Instagram To Support 'Free The Nipple' Campaign

Miley Cyrus joined "Free The Nipple" campaign and shared her topless photo on Instagram.

Cyrus shared a black and white photo on social media that showed her bare breasts with the caption: "Some lame ass def gonna [flag] that but f-k it #practicewhatchupreach #FreeTheNipple #FreedatSh-."

The picture with 297,646 likes has been removed. Cyrus violated Instagram's policy of no nipples in the photos. Although the post has been deleted, MTV captured it.

The photo is gone but Cyrus' support for "Free the Nipple" is still evident. The "Wrecking Ball" singer continued to post edited images of her younger self on topless bodies. The disturbing photos featured Cyrus' "Hannah Montana" innocent look on top of naked women, according to New York Daily News.

Aside from her topless snap, Cyrus also posted memes with captions such as "Free the Pizza" and "Without Nipples, Breasts Would Be Pointless."

The singer's Instagram followers' reacted differently. Some fans wrote an exasperated "Why?" while another one offered a suggestion, which is "If you support the #freethenipple cause, DM pics of your boobs and nipples and they will be posted anonymously!"

This is not the first time that Cyrus has complained about not being allowed to show nipples. In an interview with BBC, the pop star expressed her frustration about gender equality, according to E! News.

"Guys get to show their titties on the beach, why can't we. I feel like I'm one of the biggest feminists in the world, because I tell women to not be scared of anything," Cyrus said.

Cyrus' thoughts are very similar to "Free The Nipple's" cause, which is to "empower women across the world." The movement wants gender equality since 35 states in the Unites States prohibit women from baring nipples even when breast feeding.

Aside from Cyrus, a number of celebrities have supported "Free the Nipple" movement including Chelsea Handler, Liv Tyler, Lena Dunham, Rumor and Scout Willis and Cara Delevingne, among others.
