Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz welcomed another baby boy with the birth of their second child Genesis Ali Dean in the early morning of Dec. 27, The Huffington Post reported.
Keys shared the good news on her official Instagram account on Sunday by posting a photo of her newborn son's footprints along with details of his birth. The photo showed Genesis's birthdate of Dec. 27 at 1:52 a.m. and his weight, 2860 grams or 6 pounds and 5 ounces.
Keys then captioned the photo: "The joy of joy is joy!! It's a boy!! we are so grateful!! #blessings!!"
This is the second child for the "Girl on Fire" singer with her husband of four years, rapper and music producer Beatz. The couple's first child together. Egypt Daoud Ibarr Dean, 4 years old was born Oct. 14, 2010. This also marks Beatz's fifth child in total, with three elder children from his previous relationships.
The couple's son Egypt was reportedly happy and excited over having a new sibling, according to PEOPLE.
"I think he's super excited because he's not going to be the youngest anymore. He's always kissing my belly," Keys told PEOPLE during an interview back in October.
Keys first announced her pregnancy through Instagram during her and Beatz's fourth year wedding anniversary in July. After greeting her husband, she reportedly wrote, "To make it even sweeter we've been blessed with anther angel on the way!!"
She also talked about her pregnancy in September on "The View," saying that she was due on Dec. 31, according to Daily Mail.
"I think that's kinda cute," she told the show's hosts.
She then shared her thoughts on how being a mother changed her, saying, "Being a mother has definitely given me more of a fierceness and an understanding of just what I believe in that much more."
