For Teresa Giudice, this Thanksgiving will be a time for reflection.
The embattled reality star won't be throwing an elaborate party this year as she is reportedly spending this holiday at home surrounded by her loved ones, an insider confirmed to PEOPLE magazine.
"It will be a quiet Thanksgiving for Teresa," the source revealed. "She will be with her family, but it will be private and low-key. Nothing over the top. Just family and peace."
Giudice, whose stint on "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" was rife with feuds and drama, reportedly plans to take a step back and think about how her life will change in the near future.
"The truth is, this is a very difficult time for her. This Thanksgiving, she's doing a lot of reflecting," the insider continued. "She doesn't feel sorry for herself and doesn't want anyone feeling sorry for her, but she has a lot of sadness. She's sad over her family who she has let down, the friends she has let down and the fans she has let down."
The 42-year-old reality star, who will serving 15 months in prison starting Jan. 5, 2015, also feels dismayed by how her actions have altered the lives of her company's employees, according to E! News.
"She feels terrible for the people whose jobs have been affected as a result of her brands suffering. Her heart goes out to all of them. She doesn't want sympathy for herself, she wants sympathy to everyone else who has been affected by this," the source added.
However, while the next several months might test her resolve, Giudice has learned her lesson and taken some measures to change herself for the better.
"She's taking responsibility for her actions. She's also been using her free time to educate herself on financial matters so nothing like this EVER happens to her again," the source revealed. "If anything, she wants to teach other women the importance of understanding your finances so this doesn't happen to them."
"She's strong and she is handling this," the source said. "But she's sad."
Her husband Joe Giudice, with whom she shares daughters13-year-old Gia, 10-year-old Gabriella, 8-year-old Milania and 5-year-old Audriana, will be serving 41 months in jail starting 2016, Daily Mail reported.
