"American Horror Story: Freak Show" star Jyoti Amge has opened up about what it's like to be cast in a popular US TV series, ABC News says.
Amge, the world's smallest woman who stands at just 23 inches, shared the odd reactions people give when they see her in person. She also revealed how some people treat her like a baby because of her size and how it annoys her.
"When people see me on TV, they become very happy because they don't have to interact with me," Amge said, through her translator, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
She continued, "When they start interacting with me they ask me questions like I'm a baby or treat me like I'm a baby and hold me like I'm a baby, and that's what they do wrong, really."
Amge also revealed that while she generally doesn't like to be picked up by people, she doesn't mind it if she likes the person who wants to hold her, according to the Huffington Post.
"I don't let everyone pick me up. I only let myself be picked up by whomever I want to be picked up by," the Indian actress said. "I don't like it if I am being held like a baby. If someone holds me normally, and I'm not being coddled, I feel much more comfortable."
While Amge is no longer part of the show as her character was killed by Michael Chiklis' character Dell in last week's episode, the actress remains fond of the opportunity given to her to play her "American Horror Story: Freak Show" character Ma Petite.
"She didn't have any reservations because even though the name of the show is 'Freak Show' nobody is a freak here," said Amge's translator on her behalf.
"American Horror Story: Freak Show" airs Wednesdays on FX.
