Australian drummer of AC/DC Phil Rudd appeared late at a New Zealand court, where he is faced with charges of threatening to kill and drug possession, The Guardian reported.
Rudd was scheduled to show up at 9 a.m. local time and when he did not appear on time, the judge at the North Island city of Tauranga court issued a warrant of arrest for the 60-year-old musician.
However, the arrest warrant was withdrawn when Rudd turned within 30 minutes since the warrant was issued, according to BBC News.
When the hearing finally began, Justice Timothy Brewer told Rudd that his case will be transferred from the Tauranga High Court to the Tauranga District Court where the musician will have to enter a plea to the charges.
Earlier this month, Rudd was charged with attempting to procure a murder, as well as threatening to commit murder and possession of drugs- methamphetamine and cannabis. But the most serious charge of attempting to procure a murder was dropped soon afterward.
The musician is currently out on bail, and according to the Time, he left the courthouse while piggybacking on his security guard, after he flipped off the media.
Meanwhile, the case came at a bad timing for the hard rock group as the group as they are currently promoting their album "Rock or Bust," which is the first album AC/DC has made in six years.
During an interview with Howard Stern, the band's guitarist, Angus Young, was asked whether Rudd was still part of the band.
"We've got to resolve that," was Young's reply.
In addition, Young also told the Guardian that while the group was recording their newest album, they already had a few issues with Rudd.
"And then he was supposed to show up to do promos with us, to do video shoots and a few shoots and a few other things, and he never showed up for that either. So, at this stage, it's a pretty tough call for us," he added.
