Former NBC employee Frank Scotti claims he paid off a number of women to cover up for legendary comedian Bill Cosby, Vulture says.
Scotti spoke to New York Daily News to reveal how he acted as a middle man for Cosby and the women he allegedly abused.
"I felt sorry for the women," he said. The 90-year-old former facilities manager for "The Cosby Show" said he had delivered monthly payouts to eight women from 1989-1990.
He said he had a suspicion that Cosby was paying the women to silence them because he was having sex with them but did not know for sure soon enough.
"I did a lot of crazy things for him," he said. "He was covering himself by having my name on it. It was a coverup. I realized it later."
He also revealed how Cosby partnered with an agency to let aspiring models come to him for "interviews" in his dressing room at the "Cosby Show" set. Cosby allegedly asked him to stay outside the door whenever an "interview" was ongoing.
Scotti said he decided to resign from his job because he did not want to be involved with what Cosby was supposedly doing with the girls he paid off and interviewed.
"It bothered me... You've got all of these kids, every time," he said. "I used to like him, but that's the reason I quit him after so many years - because of the girls."
Scotti's revelation comes after a number of women went public with sexual assault allegations against the legendary comedian.
The latest to come forward with an allegation is Joyce Emmons, a comedy club manager in the 70s and 80s, TMZ reports. While she did not claim she was raped by the comedian, she said he drugged her and she woke up in bed naked next to Cosby's friend.
