"The Walking Dead" actor Steven Yeun and K-Pop band 2NE1 member Sandara "Dara" Park played boyfriends and girlfriends in the Funny Or Die web series titled "What's Eating Steven Yeun?"
The Hollywood and K-Pop collaboration features a story of a celebrity couple played by Yeun and Dara, who were born of South Korean parents.
In the web series, Yeun has to leave Dara in California because he wants to establish his career in South Korea and he has to make it in his "parents' home country."
In South Korea, Yeun meets with South Korean actor Park Hyuk Kwon who uses him to create the ultimate star in the Korean version of food porn called "mokbang." Not long after his rise to the top, Yeun makes his trip back down.
The three-episode Funny Or Die web series is soundtracked by 2NE1 hit songs including "Gotta Be You" and "Fire." The skit is part of the website launch of Be FUNNY Studios, the first celebrity studio of Asia.
Based both in Seoul and in Los Angeles, Be FUNNY Studios will feature Hollywood and Asian stars in English and Asian languages, Koreaboo reported.
This is not the first time Funny Or Die and Be Funny Studios teamed up to feature a Hollywood and K-Pop collaboration, according to Billboard.
In 2013, Anna Kendrick and f(x) starred in a skit in which the "Pitch Perfect" actress attempts to join the K-Pop group.
Earlier this year, Iggy Azalea's "Black Widow" collaborator Rita Ora and 4minute's HyunA, the lead female dancer in the "Gangnam Style" video, starred in "Girl, You Better Walk."
On April 8, Dara took to Instagram to upload a photo with Yeun with a caption, It was very nice meeting you :) with #StevenYeun." It was apparently taken when she was filming the "What's Eating Steven Yeun?" skit with "The Walking Dead" actor, according to Kpop Starz.
Recently, Dara performed with her fellow 2NE1 members at the Alexander Wang event in Shanghai, China and celebrated her 30th birthday in the Philippines, where she started her career as a singer and actress.
