"Dancing With the Stars" frontrunner Alfonso Ribeiro injured himself during rehearsals last Wednesday and has undergone medical evaluation to help determine whether or not he could perform on Monday night's live show.
The former "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" star thanked all of his fans for their uplifting words of encouragement and prayers, according to Access Hollywood.
On Saturday, Ribeiro tweeted, "Hey #TeamWitfonso thank 4 all the love. I'm really working hard to be able to dance Monday. Keep the prayers coming. Love you all!"
Ribeiro's wife, Angela, who is pregnant with their second child, also tweeted an update about her husband's condition, Examiner reported.
"Went to rehearsal to help massage my hubby's back during breaks. He's much better today, thankfully," Angela tweeted.
Ribeiro's professional dancing partner on the competition, Witney Carson, retweeted Angela's post.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time that the comedian injured himself during rehearsals on "DWTS." A few weeks ago, Ribeiro injured his groin while doing the famous Carlton Dance. A week after, he once again injured his groin while doing a samba.
In a previous interview with E! News, Ribeiro explained, "On the dance floor, we give it our all and we hold nothing back and we do everything we can to deliver the best performance that we can regardless of whether we're in pain or not."
Ribeiro and Carson are currently in the running to win this season's Mirrorball trophy, that is, if they will still be allowed to perform on Monday night's semi-finals.
At present, four other couples are still competing against each other, namely, "Duck Dynasty" star Sadie Robertson and Mark Ballas, former "Pretty Little Liars" actress Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy, Tommy Chong and Peta Murgatroyd and YouTube personality Bethany Mota and Derek Hough.
"Dancing With the Stars" semi-finals is scheduled to kick off this Monday, at 8/7c on ABC
