Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood hosted the annual Country Music Awards for the seventh time. While they were discussing Garth Brooks, Paisley indirectly revealed the gender of the pregnant "American Idol" alum's baby.
"Hey, you can name him Garth," Paisley told Underwood referring to her baby bump, which was followed by a loud cheer from the audience.
"What are you doing? What is wrong with you?" Underwood said pretending to be upset. "You've got to be kidding me. Well, you kept that secret for a whole two minutes."
On Sept. 1, Underwood's 34-year-old husband Mike Fisher took to Twitter to confirm they are expecting their first child. He wrote, "We haven't picked names yet but it's looking like Fly is gonna fly. #boyorgirl #flyfisher."
Other fellow country stars Paisley and Underwood mentioned in their jokes at the CMA were Luke Bryan and George Strait, as well as "The Voice" coaches Blake Shelton and Taylor Swift.
The duo poked fun at the "Shake It Off" hit maker for her move from country to pop music with her newly released album "1989" as "Postpartum Taylor Swift Disorder."
They even sang a jingle about Swift with the lyrics, "Who's going to fill her shoes? Who's going to stand that tall? Who's going to be country and poppy and sing a song called 'Tim McGraw?' Country music's just going to have to shake it off."
Paisley previously told CMT he and Underwood plan to tackle "one of the worst years in current events" with humor and style.
"The silver lining to a year like this is that you need it more, and people are really ready to laugh. So even though it feels like there's less to laugh about, there's more need. And I think that can be pretty fertile ground for comedy," Paisley said.
Meanwhile, Paisley recently announced on ESPN's College Game Day in Morgantown he will perform at the WVU Coliseum for his 2015 Country Nation World Tour on Jan. 16 and 17, WBOY reported.
Parmalee and "The Voice" alums the Swon Brothers will join Paisley as special guests for the tour, according to Taste of Country.
