Before his nude scenes with Rosamund Pike in "Gone Girl," Neil Patrick Harris also played a role on stage that required nudity alongside his "How I Met Your Mother" co-actor Josh Radnor.
During his recent appearance on Conan O'Brien's TBS talk show "Conan," Harris said he did a Jon Robbie Bates play called "The Paris Letter" with Josh Radnor in Los Angeles.
"It was a flashback scene in the 1970s where I had seduced him, we had just had sex. The scene starts with him coming on naked and nervous, like, 'What have I done?' Then I saunter on as well, naked," Harris explained.
He also jokingly added that at the time, he and Radnor were "both offstage left doing the windmill, the helicopter" just to "make sure it was looking good."
For Harris, he is comfortable doing nude scenes as it is a part of his job as an actor.
"You just deal with it," he said. "I'm fine if you see my butt and stuff like that, but you know, don't get the camera too low."
According to Harris, his sex scene with Pike in "Gone Girl" was filmed for two days straight.
"It wasn't like we were in the musical 'Hair' or something like that, dancing around totally naked. There were moments where that happened and it was disarming. There is the camera crew and that's your butt. That had to happen," he told O'Brien.
On the other hand, before "Gone Girl" hit theaters, Pike told Movie Fone, "Apparently Neil said in the press that the sex scene was robotic. I thought it was awesome."
Meanwhile, NBC has confirmed that Harris will host a series based on "Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway," Entertainment Weekly.
In a statement released by the network, the show will premiere with 10 episodes. Filmed in front of a live audience, the show will feature "comedy sketches, musical numbers, mini game shows, hidden camera pranks on celebrities and appearances by A-list stars."
Harris was also confirmed to host the 2015 Academy Awards in place of Ellen DeGeneres who refused to host the event for the third time, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
