Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence and Coldplay front man Chris Martin have officially ended their four-month-long relationship, E! News reported.
Lawrence had been seeing Martin since late June after the actress broke up with "X-Men" co-star Nicholas Hoult.
Martin, on the other hand, had announced his separation in March with "Iron Man" star Gwyneth Paltrow after ten years of marriage in what they both called an "unconscious coupling."
Lawrence and Martin kept their relationship private and away from the paparazzi. In the course of their fourth-month relationship, the pair had been photographed together only once where they were seen stepping off a private jet together in Van Nuys in Los Angeles in late Sept.
While there's no hard proof, the couple's split was allegedly caused by the video of Paltrow touching Martin after a family dinner in California, The Epoch Times stated. The exclusive video by TMZ captured Paltrow touching Martin's face, which sparked rumors that the exes still had feelings for one another and that Martin could be cheating on Lawrence with Paltrow.
However, a source stated that Paltrow has moved on and was dating "American Horror Story" producer Brad Falchuk, according to The New York Post. The source stated that the pair were "openly dating, but behind closed doors" and that they "go to private Hollywood parties together."
Lawrence and Martin, on the other hand, seemed to share a connection from the day they met, Hollywood Life noted. Lawrence was spotted arriving at a Coldplay after-party event at Kensington Roof Gardens, London in July where an eyewitness reportedly saw them "being really flirty."
They also attended the King of Leon concert in early October and engaged in a lot of public displays of affection. A source claimed that "they engaged playfully with one another" and appeared like "a couple in love."
Martin and Lawrence's separation might not be too much of a surprise though, as a source allegedly told Grazia UK in September that Paltrow still had a lot of control over Martin, Hollywood Life claimed.
Paltrow has allegedly "drawn up a rota" to balance Martin's time between their family commitments and his time as a bachelor and dating Lawrence .
"The way things are at the moment, no sane person would want to be an accessory to their conscious uncoupling," the source concluded.
