After TLC canceled "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo," the mother of the top-rating family reality show's child star Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson took to Facebook to respond through a video captioned,"This a truth video and answering some of yall question over the last few months."
Talking in a darkly lit room right into the camera, Mama June Shannon denied the report that she is dating a sex offender saying, "I would never, ever put my kids in danger. I love my kids too much. That is my past. I have not seen that person in 10 years."
"The fan pages have stayed quiet for a while 'cause TLC has kind of told us to hush-hush," she explains in the clip.
TMZ previously reported that Shannon is in a relationship with Mark McDaniel, 53, a registered sex offender in Georgia.
McDaniel was released in March after serving a 10-year sentence for forcing Shannon's eight-year-old relative to give him oral sex.
Shannon confirmed in the video that she is no longer in a relationship with Mike "Sugar Bear" Thompson, but admitted that they have "stayed civil."
"We are still going to do our Christmas display, if ya'll choose to want to come on out and meet the family," Shannon told their fans in the video. "We love y'all and we do care about y'all ... and want to let y'all know that."
On Friday morning, the mother got a phone call from TLC informing her there will be no more production of "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo," a spinoff of the network's child pageant series "Toddlers and Tiaras."
TLC issued a statement to The Wrap on the same day, saying they are "faithfully committed to the children's ongoing comfort and well-being" and their only priority is "supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children."
Prior to this, TLC had planned to air the fifth season of the reality show, which scored high ratings because of its reflection of "real America" like "Duck Dynasty," according to The Daily Beast.
