Nick Cannon, Mariah Carey To Parent Children Despite Divorce

Nick Cannon, in an interview on "The Meredith Vieira Show" Thursday, addressed rumors surrounding his troubled marriage and his alleged divorce with singer Mariah Carey, E! News reported.

The episode, which will air Friday on NBCUniversal Television Distribution, shows the entertainer giving vague details on the state of his relationship with Carey.

"It's one of those things, being someone who is in the public eye, you never want to deal with your personal life in the public eye-but we have to," the actor said.

He also shared that media outlets are making stories up and making it seem that the situation is worse since he is not talking about his marital issues in public.

When host Meredith Vieira asked which rumors were not true, Cannon responded with news that the couple are supposedly fighting over their eight dogs. "It's the Jack Russell puppy dispute," the entertainer said.

When asked about how the couple's 4-year old twins, Monroe and Moroccan, were coping, Cannon spoke about how happy they were despite the current situation.

"Being the fact our situation, we have always been people who have been on the go coming and going, their life hasn't changed one bit," he said. "We spend holidays together, we do everything that we are supposed to do together as a family."

Cannon announced the separation from Carey in June after six years of marriage, according to Daily Mail.

Recent reports suggest that the singer has begun the divorce proceedings. However, neither Cannon nor Carey has confirmed that the divorce is underway.

Carey is currently in Asia for her world tour. She is accompanied by her twins, and has shared photos and videos of her with them on her social media accounts.

Meanwhile, Cannon has been photographed with a new tattoo on his back, which covers up his tribute tattoo to his wife.
