Patrick Stump is now a dad!
The 30-year-old lead vocalist of rock band Fall Out Boy has recently welcomed his first child, a baby boy, with wife Elisa Yao.
The happy news was announced by none other than Ellen DeGeneres via Twitter Wednesday, Oct. 15.
"It's a boy! Actually, it's a @FallOutBoy," DeGeneres wrote on the microblogging site, along with an adorable photo of the baby. "Congrats @PatrickStump and welcome baby Declan! See y'all in 2 weeks!"
Soon after, the band posted the same snap on Twitter, writing: "Welcome to the world the newest Fall Out Baby Declan."
But why did the 56-year-old TV host make the revelation? Based on her "see y'all in 2 weeks" comment, it seems possible that the new parents and baby Declan are set to appear on her syndicated daytime TV show soon, Billboard reported.
Stump and Yao did not reveal that they were expecting their first child until last month during an interview with 102.7 KIIS FM on Sept. 3, Us Weekly reported.
"The band is in a crazy place right now because there's a lot of little kids running around," Stump said in the interview. Just last August, his bandmate Pete Wentz - who already has a 5-year-old son, Bronx, with ex-wife Ashlee Simpson - welcomed a baby boy with girlfriend Meagan Camper. And in April, the band's guitarist Joe Trohman welcomed his first child, Ruby, with wife Marie Wortman Goble.
During the same interview, Wentz jokingly told Stump: "You can never have enough Kleenex and baby wipes."
Declan's arrival comes two weeks after Stump and Yao celebrated their second wedding anniversary, E! News reported. Stump and Yao, who currently lives in Chicago together, tied the knot in October 2012.
Fall Out Boy is currently promoting "Immortals," a hair metal-flavored rock track for the soundtrack to the Walt Disney Animation's superhero-comedy film "Big Hero 6," which opens in theaters on Nov.7.
