Natalie Dormer, who plays Margaery Tyrell on "Game of Thrones" revealed that the cast and crew of the hit HBO fantasy drama are midway through filming Season 5. And though she cannot exactly tell whether her character will be married for the third time when the show returns for its fifth season next year, readers of George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" know that Margaery is set to tie the knot with Tommen Baratheon (Dean-Charles Chapman) right after the funeral of Tywin Lannister (Charles Dance).
Asked by Access Hollywood if another wedding is in the cards, Dormer, 32, joked, "What do they say, third time lucky? Is Margaery gonna be third time lucky?"
"Poor girl, she needs a break," she added at the People's Ones To Watch party at The Line Hotel in Los Angeles Thursday, Oct. 9.
In an interview with E! News at the Extremely Piaget launch and opening of the high-end jewelry house's Rodeo Drive flagship, the British actress said that playing Margaery befriending the 12-year-old Tommen is awkward for her as an actress.
"Margaery is just trying to play the next, you know, round of cards with the ones she's been dealt, so it's a particularly awkward situation for her, and young Tommen as well, so she's just trying to befriend the kid," Dormer explained. "She's just trying to befriend him. It's very awkward as an actress being given that specification. It's not an easy thing to do."
As for what viewers can expect from the fifth season of the show in general, Dormer teased, "Things are getting pretty dark and damp and dingy right now."
And though the world of "Game of Thrones" is indeed pretty dark, Dormer explained that she tries to get out of her character the moment the shooting is done.
"We're actors, you shake it out, leave it at the door," Dormer explained. "Sometimes it's hard, sometimes a character can get into your blood. It's an interesting one, because this is the longest I've ever played a character. Previous to this, Anne Boleyn two years [on 'The Tudors'], so now to be with Margaery for the fourth year...every season you get to learn something new about them. It's like learning something you didn't know about your best friend."
Dormer was one of the 40 stars honored by People magazine on its Oct. 20 "One to Watch" issue, and she said that feels great for being part of the list.
"It's great to get the memo," Dormer told Entertainment Weekly of her "One to Watch" status. "The response that 'Game of Thrones' has had, for all of us as a cast, has just been extraordinary."
