"Grimsby" actress Penelope Cruz was named this year's sexiest woman alive by Esquire magazine, inheriting the title from "Avengers: Age Of Ultron" star Scarlett Johansson.
Featuring several photos of the 40-year-old actress, the November issue of Esquire will be released on Oct. 21, Detroit Free Press has learned.
Keeping her personal life private, Cruz refused to talk about her 44-year-old husband Javier Bardem and their two children, Luna and Leonardo.
"That is for us," Cruz said.
Cruz gave birth to their son Leonardo in 2011 in Los Angeles and to daughter Luna in 2013 in Madrid.
Among the things Cruz told Esquire was that she had "an attraction to drama" in her teens and 20s but "could not be less interested now."
Aside from Cruz, who is the 11th woman to be named the sexiest woman alive by Esquire, and Johansson who got the title twice, other actresses chosen by the magazine for the title are Brad Pitt's wife Angelina Jolie, Halle Berry, "Diamonds" singer Rihanna and Charlize Theron.
Meanwhile, Cruz was recently rumored to be the next Bond girl for the next James Bond film to star Daniel Craig, but the role may also be given to Rihanna, Franchise Herald reports.
Currently, Cruz is filming the 2015 comedy movie "Grisby" with Sacha Baron Cohen, Ian McShane, Isla Fisher, Johnny Vegas, "Precious" actress Gabourey Sidibe and "Annabelle" star Annabelle Wallis.
Before "Grisby," the Oscar-winning actress will star in the Spanish-language film "Ma Ma," according to the Daily Mail.
Before they got married in July 2010, Cruz and Bardem starred in the 2008 film "Vicky Cristina Barcelona," which earned her an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress beating Viola Davis, Amy Adams, Taraji P. Henson and Marisa Tomei.
In 2009, she was nominated again for Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in "Nine" but lost to "Precious" actress Mo'Nique.
