"Easy A" star Amanda Bynes took to Twitter to accuse her father of sexual, verbal and physical abuse in the morning of Oct. 10, Friday. However, she immediately deleted the tweets and recanted her allegations.
On Oct. 11, Saturday, Bynes tweeted, "My dad never did any of those things. The microchip in my brain made me say those things but he's the one that ordered them to microchip me."
Her mother has issued a statement to E! News through their family lawyer Tamar Arminak stating she was heartbroken for Rick Bynes, her husband of 47 years who "has been the best father and husband a family can ask for."
The mother said the accusations are "absolutely horrible and could not be further from the truth" and they came from her daughter's current mental state.
"They have no basis in reality. It saddens me beyond belief that my husband's character could be slandered in such a way," the statement read.
Also, the 28-year-old actress's siblings Tommy Bynes and Jillian O'Keefe issued a statement to TMZ saying they are "disturbed beyond words" that their sister would "come up with such a fabrication as a way to avoid getting much needed help or treatment."
Shortly after she tweeted and recanted her allegations against her father, Bynes was admitted to a Pasadena hospital shortly after arriving at the airport from New York to Los Angeles and has been placed in involuntary psychiatric care, Arminak confirmed.
Bynes may be detained there for up to 72 hours for mental health evaluation as per Californian law, according to Reuters.
Since her announcement of retiring from acting in 2012, Bynes has been involved in several legal issues.
Her last film was the hit 2010 teen comedy "Easy A" where she starred with "The Amazing Spider-Man" actress Emma Stone, "Gossip Girl" alum Penn Badgley, and "Friends" alum Lisa Kudrow among others and her last TV show was "Family Guy" in 2008.
