"Sons Of Anarchy" star Charlie Hunnam revealed he had a nervous breakdown after dropping out of "Fifty Shades of Grey," a decision he described as "very painful" and "very difficult."
"It's very personal to me, and every decision I make comes from my heart. There's nothing ever monetarily or fame-seeking or any of the other motivations that sometimes go hand-in-hand with this profession," Hunnam told Entertainment Weekly.
He added, "All of a sudden, I'm getting all of these wonderful people approaching me and asking me to work with them. It's very hard to say no when you love and respect people. I just kind of made a bit of a rookie mistake in that one in biting off more than I could chew."
Two days after the "Sons of Anarchy Season 6" finale, Hunnam was supposed to start playing Christian Grey in "Fifty Shades of Grey."
If filming "Fifty Shades of Grey" was postponed, Hunnam would have to delay production for "Crimson Peak," another film he already committed to.
Hunnam clarified he had to give up "Fifty Shades of Grey" simply because he was too busy and not because he was scared.
On the other hand, he admitted he felt bad because he disappointed Fifty Shades of Grey" director Sam Taylor-Johnson.
"I really was just so sad for Sam the director because I absolutely adore her, and I gave her my word," Hunnam said of Taylor-Johnson as he "committed to going on this journey with her."
Recently, Hunnam also talked about his role Jax in "Sons Of Anarchy."
According to the 34-year-old actor, there is a possibility Jax will kill his mother when he finds out that she killed Tara in the seventh season of the show, The Epoch Times has learned.
Also, on "Sons Of Anarchy Season 7," Courtney Love also made her debut appearance. It is also her first TV role, which will run throughout the show's seventh and final season, according to Stereo Gum.
