Most "Teen Wolf" viewers are probably shipping Parrish (Ryan Kelley) and Lydia (Holland Roden), but in a recent interview, Kelley suggested that it is too early to tell whether the two characters will form a romantic bond next season as the show has not really presented where the young deputy's romantic interests lie.
The 28-year-old hunky actor told MyFanBase that he indeed noticed that a certain segment of the show's fans, including people who write recaps about the show, is pushing for a Parrish-Lydia romance. "There are definitely signs that have been popping up left and right this season that might suggest a growing relationship between them," he said. "Now is a romantic relationship in the works or is it just a special friendship? I don't know."
"But who doesn't think Holland Roden isn't stunning," the "Prayers for Bobby" actor added. "So you guys have my vote on the two of them being a good fit!"
Executive producer Russell Mulcahy also admitted that he has no idea whether Parrish and Lydia's friendship would turn into a romance in the upcoming season. "The chemistry seems to be really nice there," he told TVLine in September. "Whether that turns into a romantic thing, or just becomes a close friendship, I don't know. But there's definitely a bond that you saw in one of the final scenes of them together. It's a very strong bond forming between them."
Kelley then told MyFanBase that Parrish is still a mysterious character and his romantic interests are yet to be tackled on the show, so basically - aside from a potential romance with Lydia - there is a lot more options when it comes to his love life.
"Parrish is still a bit of an unknown, we haven't really seen yet where his romantic interests lie," he said. "Maybe he's the kind of guy who's all about his job and doesn't think he has time for romance. Or maybe all the fans that have been hoping for a significant same sex relationship on the show will finally get their wish."
"It's 'Teen Wolf,' so anything can happen!" he explained. "I say next season he dates a different main character every episode, one week it's holding hands at a movie with Lydia, the next week eating pizza by the fire with Stiles and the next week going to a club with the Darach. This way by the end of the season every man, woman, and beast possible are in love with Parrish!"
But among all the potential romantic interests for Parrish, it seems that creator Jeff Davis is most interested in the Parrish-Lydia pairing.
When Entertainment Weekly's Samantha Highfill told Davis in a September interview that she loves that people are already shipping Parrish and Lydia, the creative force behind the show replied: "Yeah, me too."
