Welsh lyric mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins has tied the knot with actor-director Andrew Levitas five months after their engagement.
Jenkins, who was the "Dancing with the Stars" season runner-up in May 2012, married Levitas at London's Hampton Court Palace, Saturday evening, Sept. 26, Hello Magazine reported.
The "Angel" singer and "The Art of Getting By" actor had kept their big day a secret, until the bride tweeted a vague message to her 294,000 followers a few hours before their nuptials. "Thank you for all your love & support. It's already been such a special day & wanted to share my happiness with you," the 34-year-old wrote on the microblogging site.
Jenkins and Levitas were given special permission from Buckingham Palace to fly the Welsh dragon at their wedding venue. The flag was raised at around 6:00 p.m. as the celebrations got underway with tight security around the former royal residence, according to BBC News.
Guests were treated to a wedding breakfast filled with Welsh food, including Welsh cheeses, black beef and lamb. A harpist also entertained the guests, added the British news site.
Levitas, who made her directorial debut with the drama film "Lullaby" starring Garrett Hedlund, Amy Adams, Jennifer Hudson, Richard Jenkins, Terrence Howard, Jessica Brown-Findlay, and Anne Archer, popped the question to her then girlfriend in April, after six months of dating, Hello Magazine reported.
"Katherine is over the moon," Jenkins's rep told People at the time.
Their relationship became public in March when Levitas, 37, accompanied Jenkins to Buckingham Palace to collect her OBE from Prince Charles. (Order of the British Empire).
This was not the first time Jenkins had been engaged. In 2011, she announced that she was to tie the knot with Welsh TV presenter Gethin Jones, but the pair split up in early 2012. Following their breakup, Jenkins headed to the U.S. and now splits her time between London and New York.
Jenkins is set to perform at New York's SubCulture on Oct. 9, 10, and 11 in support of her 10th album "Home Sweet Home," according to Billboard.
