Did Tyler Perry Just Come Out?, Announces He's Expecting First Child: Sources

Tyler Perry reportedly came out of the closet and announced that he is expecting his first child at his star-studded 45th birthday at his home in Atlanta, GA., Monday, Sept. 22.

A source told MediaTakeOut that the actor-director first announced that he is going to be a dad. "Everyone clapped when they heard the news," said the tipster.

But the woman who is carrying Perry's child, the 28-year-old Ethiopian model Gelila Bekele, was reportedly at the birthday bash with her boyfriend, who is not the "Madea" mastermind, suggesting that the pregnancy is some sort of arrangement.

MediaTakeOut's insider noted that Perry was enjoying his party with his new beau."Tyler's boyfriend was a muscular lite skinned man, fine as you could imagine," the source said. "Tyler wasn't even trying to pretend... they were BOO'D up all night."

"Tyler is very private. I've always HEARD he was gay, but I've never seen him out publicly with a boyfriend," added the eyewitness.

An insider told Us Weekly that Bekele is about 7 months pregnant, and that Perry broke the pregnancy news in front of 100 family members and close friends including Jennifer Holliday, Tevin Campbell, Monica, Jazmine Sullivan and LeAnn Rimes. Stevie Wonder was also present at the event and sang the celebrant "Happy Birthday."

Whether or not the pregnancy was arranged, Perry and Bekele could not be more thrilled, a source told Entertainment Tonight.

"He said he had to start getting used to not getting a lot of sleep, because his life was about to change in a big way," a partygoer told E! News, referring to Perry.  "He said, 'Some of you know what I'm talking about.'"

During an appearance on "The Steve Harvey Show" in April 2013, Perry said he wanted to be a dad.

"I know I would be a great father. I don't want to work this hard, I don't want to have all of this and not leave it to my children," he explained.

"I also know, that as hard as I'm working-doing 20 hours a day-now is not the time," he said at the time.
