'Teen Wolf' Season 5 Spoilers: Dylan Sprayberry Wants Liam To Be 'More Confident,' Talks His Character's Relationship With His Best Friend Mason And Possible Love Interest In The Future

"Teen Wolf" fans will definitely see more of Liam Dunbar in the fifth season of the hit MTV supernatural show, as executive producer Jeff Davis announced at San Diego Comic-Con last July that Dylan Sprayberry, who plays the newest teen werewolf in the series, was promoted to series regular for next season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Though there is no word yet about what actually is in store for Liam in Season 5, the 16-year-old actor wants his character to become "more confident" in his newfound supernatural skills.

"Although playing nervous and not sure what to do is fun, I'd rather be getting into the confidence and being a leader and really contributing to the pack is something I really want to do. And not being so scared and retreating into my shell," Sprayberry told Bustle.

"I feel like he's definitely going to figure out who he is, he'll adjust to it," he added of his character. "Although he does have some problems... I believe he has the potential to be a strong leader one day. He just doesn't know it yet."

Could that new confidence help Liam reveal his werewolf secret to his best friend Mason (Khylin Rhambo)?

"I think it's definitely holding him back to tell Mason because he doesn't know how Mason will react. Also he doesn't even know how to tell someone else, it's a really weird thing to tell someone," Sprayberry said about Liam's biggest secret. "Also the way Liam works is that he wants to deal with it himself, he doesn't want to take the easy way out and let other people help him, which can be stubborn sometimes but, you know, that's just who he is. Hopefully he will learn to let other people help him."

And since Mason saw a berserker during the season finale, his story arc will also develop and will now be somehow similar to that of Sheriff Stilinski (Linden Ashby), according to executive producer Russell Mulcahy."Throughout the seasons, he went from being a regular sheriff in Beacon Hills to finally knowing about werewolves, lizard men, witches and whatever else. So his [Mason's] eyes have definitely been opened," Mulcahy told TVLine.

Sprayberry, who was best known for portraying the young Clark Kent in the 2013 film "Man of Steel" before starring in "Teen Wolf," also told Hollywood Life that he hopes Liam will have a love interest next season.

But he admitted, "I can't really think of anyone in specific that I'd want to have [a romantic dynamic] with because it's just something I haven't been able to do yet."

"I think now that I'm old enough to play that now in a series or movie or whatever, I think it'll be fun to do," he told Bustle.

Last July, MTV renewed "Teen Wolf" for a 20-episode fifth season which, like the third season, will be split into two parts.
