The ever-so-gorgeous lead actress of ABC's hit series "Scandal," Kerry Washington, has recently gushed about how wonderful motherhood is for her and how she loves the challenge of getting back in shape after her pregnancy, People first reported.
The 37-year-old television actress recently attended Twitter's #TGIT -Thank God It's Thursday - event that served to commend the ABC shows that occupy the Thursday night time slot.
In an interview with People at the Saturday event, Washington gushed about motherhood.
"[Motherhood is] wonderful. We just continue to feel very blessed," said the "Django Unchained" star, who gave birth to her first child with husband Nnamdi Asomugha, Isabelle Amarchi, in April. "All the time... it's pretty amazing."
Washington, who has obviously regained her slender figure after her pregnancy all thanks to her love of Pilates, then, revealed that she loves the challenge of getting in shape after giving birth.
"It's such a great way to get in shape in a loving way," she said of the physical fitness routine. "I feel like I'm both challenging myself and healing my body at the same time."
The proud mother, who is gearing up for her show's Season 4 premiere on Sept. 25, looked stunning at the event as she sported a silvery frock featuring a sliver, blue and white print, which she matched with white pointer-toe pumps and a pearly clutch, according to Daily Mail.
Other stars who attended the event include "Grey's Anatomy" stars Ellen Pompeo, Caterina Scorsone, Sarah Drew, Jessica Capshaw and Sara Ramirez, among others.
On the other hand, Washington was joined by her co-actors Darby Stanchfield, Katie Lowes, Guillermo Diaz, Bellamy Young, George Newbern and Scott Foley.
"How to Get Away with Murder" star Viola Davis, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi were also in attendance.
Interestingly, apart from her working on show, Washington has recently joined a couple of celebrities in raising awareness against campus sexual assault.
The "Scandal" lead actress, "Mad Men" actor John Hamm and NBA all-star player Kevin Love are just a few of the familiar faces appearing in President Obama's "It's On Us" campaign that encourages everyone to take a stand against campus sexual assault, PBS.org has learned.
In one of his latest interviews, President Obama revealed that 1 in 5 college women are victims of sexual assault inside school premises and that there is "quiet tolerance" of this serious matter, which he called " an affront to our basic humanity."
Other celebrities appearing in the PSA are Connie Britton, Mayim Bialik, Rose Byrne, Joel McHale, Randy Jackson and Questlove, among others.
