So we already know why reality star Kim Kardashian does the vampire and PRP Facial, but just how do they work together? Our Q&A continues with Dr. Martin:
Dr. Martin, how do these two treatments go hand in hand?
Yes, they go hand in hand. There is no reason to assume only one of these treatments can be selected. Using both CO2 laser treatment combined with stem cell therapy could lead to the most effective results.
What triggers someone's acne and how do these treatments clear blemishes?
Acne can be triggered by a variety of factors hormones imbalance, environment, nutrition, etc. Once acne is no longer active, the CO2 laser can resurface your skin in order to remove scarring, pigmentation and other problems associated with acne.
What does the procedure involve? Is it painful? We've seen Kim K tear up during this procedure.
The procedure starts with a applying a topical numbing agent to the skin along with a cocktail of medications to make the patient very comfortable. The topical numbing agent on the skin takes 45 minutes to work.
During the numbing time a small sample of blood is drawn and processed to obtain PRP. Next a 15-minute sessions of CO2 laser is applied to the skin to stimulate skin rejuvenation. Immediately following the CO2 session, PRP is injected into major folds and fine lines and a portion is applied topically across the skin to promote better healing.
How much does it cost?
The cost for CO2 laser alone is $2500 for three sessions. The cost for PRP facial is $1200 alone. The combined package is $3000 for three sessions.
How long do the results last?
The results are like reversing the damage to your skin. It's like a new slate. The aging process starts again and how you treat your skin dictates the results. We have worked with Ben Moody from Evanescence, George Brown from Kool and the Gang and many other celebrities.
