Earlier this week, it was rumored that Max George of the boy band The Wanted could appear in the sixth and final season of " Glee." And that speculation turned out to be true, at least according to a recent Instagram photo shared by Mark Salling.
Rumors that the 26-year-old British singer could appear on the Fox musical series surfaced after he cancelled a personal appearance at a night club in the UK last week. George was scheduled to appear at Tiger Tiger in Portsmouth but pulled out at the last minute, OK! Magazine reported.
When a customer asked why the highly-anticipated gig was suddenly off the cards, the club tweeted, "We were told he has to fly to LA to appear in 'Glee.' Filming was brought forward."
The news was confirmed by Salling when he posted an Instagram photo of him - in full Puck costume - and George smiling together behind a drum set. "Jammin with the homie @maxgeorge in the Sawditorium. Been told once or a million times that we look alike," Salling,32, captioned the on-set photograph.
Last January, The Wanted boys, George, Nathan Sykes, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness and Tom Parker announced that the group would go on an unspecified break to pursue personal endeavors, and since then, George - tipped as the "Robbie Williams of the band - has been focusing his attention on acting, and has already auditioned for roles, according to Reveal.
Meanwhile, "Glee" executive music producer Adam Anders took to Twitter Tuesday, Sept. 16, and implied that the final season of the show will feature mash-up songs. "I have one word for you today: mashup. #GleeSeason6," he tweeted.
The news should not come as a surprise to Gleeks as the show has been featuring lots of mash-up songs since Season 1. Nine mash-up songs were featured in the first season of the series, eight in the second, 11 in the third, 12 in the fourth and just two last season.
The only song that has been confirmed for next season is the mega-hit "Frozen" theme song "Let it Go," which will be sung by Rachel (Lea Michele).
Aside from "Let It Go," below are the songs that will be featured in "Glee" Season 6 premiere titled "Loser Like Me," according to mjsbigblog.com.
"Uninvited" by Alanis Morissette - sung by Rachel
"Suddenly Seymour" from Little Shop of Horrors - sung by Rachel and Blaine
"Sing" by Ed Sheeran - sung by Blaine and The Warblers
"Dance the Night Away" by Van Halen - sung by Vocal Adrenaline
"Karma Chameleon" by Culture Club - sung by Rachel
"Glee" returns on Fox next year.
