British supermodel Cara Delevingne has been tapped to take on the lead role in John Green's "Paper Towns."
The 22-year-old Delevingne will be portraying the role of Margo Roth Spiegelman, alongside 19-year-old American actor Nat Wolff, according to Variety.
Green himself confirmed the news on Tuesday via Twitter and said, "Cara Delevigne's audition blew everyone away (including me!) and she understands Margo profoundly! I'm so excited!"
In another tweet, Green mocked himself for misspelling Delevingne's surname on his first tweet and wrote, "I should probably learn how to spell Cara's surname at some point)."
Delevingne later on responded to the news via Twitter as well and wrote, "Thank you so much guys!! I am so excited! Ahhh!"
"Paper Towns" chronicles the life of two children, Quentin Jacobsen and Margo Roth Spiegelman, who discovers the body of a man who committed suicide in a park. Throughout the years, the children grow apart and find themselves reunited as teenagers. At this point, Margo, dressed as a ninja, asks Quentin to join her in her quest for revenge, according to Contact Music.
However, a day after, Margo vanishes and Quentin is left to "ponder the ramifications of the evening. Then he begins getting clues and follows them in an attempt to find her," Variety noted.
This is not the first time that Delevingne has been cast in a film. Just recently, she finished filming "Pan," a comedy that stars Hugh Jackman and Rooney Mara, Expose reported.
The supermodel has also landed roles in "London Fields," "Kids In Love" and "Tulip Fever," the same publication reported.
Other than her busy schedule shooting for films, Delevingne is very much active in the world of modeling. The DKNY model recently released a new campaign video teaser for Pepe Jeans via her Instagram account.
