Chris Evans is not yet ready to give up his role as "Captain America," reports Cinema Blend.
Evans, who recently joined fellow celebs at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival to promote his first directorial film "Before We Go," assured his fans that he is still not giving up his "Captain America" role.
In an interview, Evans denied that he would soon be giving his Captain America shield to another actor.
"Who's handing off the shield? Don't take my job from me prematurely, dude. I'm sure it'll happen at some point, all good things have to come to an end. But I'm really happy playing the character," Evans told MTV News.
For the previous months, the actor has been rumored to be dropping out of his "Captain America" role soon. While Evans is still signed on to appear in the upcoming movies "The Avengers: Age of Ultron," "Captain America 3" and "Avengers 3," the actor has been hinting the possibility of retirement after doing Marvel movies.
"If I'm acting at all, it's going to be under Marvel contract, or I'm going to be directing," Evans told Variety.
With that being said, it looks like Evans still has several years as "Captain America," since the movie "Avengers 3" is not expected to be released until early 2018, according to another article by Cinema Blend.
Marvel Studios seems to have prepared a plan after "Avengers 3" and at the end of Evans' contract. Evans' co-actor Sebastian Stan is rumored to be replacing Evans after "Avengers 3," according to Metro.
Evans has mentioned before that he may be giving up acting to be able to focus on being a director, according to Cinema Blend. Evans' directorial debut "Before We Go" premieres on the second week of September at the Toronto International Film Festival, although the film does not have a release date yet.
Evans has finished filming Justin Reardon's romantic comedy "A Many Splintered Thing." "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" has also wrapped up Captain America's scenes, and is scheduled to be released on May 1, 2015.
