Prince Charles is quite pleased with Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton's second pregnancy, he says he's very excited to be a grandfather again, Us Weekly first reported.
Speaking for the first time since Kensington Palace revealed Middleton's second pregnancy during a visit to a Prince's Trust Project in south London on Tuesday, the future king says he feels "wonderful" knowing that he'll be welcoming another grandchild soon enough.
Prince Charles said that he's "happy" and "thrilled" after learning that Middleton and Prince William are already expecting their second baby.
"It's not here yet!" the 65-year-old royalty said. "No, it's wonderful. We are very happy. It's splendid, very exciting."
Interestingly, Prince Charles gushed that he really hopes that it "will be a girl this time," since the couple's first baby is a boy, The Independent has learned.
On the same day he spoke about Middleton's pregnancy, Prince Charles met the young entrepreneurs who got a helping hand from The Prince's Trust charity, of which he is founder and president, noted Daily Mail.
On the other hand, in a statement issued at the time Middleton's second pregnancy was confirmed, the Palace shared, "The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news."
Amid all the excitement for Prince William and Kate Middleton's second child, the Palace revealed that the Duchess of Cambridge is suffering from severe morning sickness in her first trimester.
"As with her first pregnancy, The Duchess is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum ... The Duchess is being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace. [Middleton] is at home being looked after by the surgeon gynecologist to the Queen, Alan Farthing, and the surgeon gynecologist to the royal household, Guy Thorpe-Beeston," the statement from the Palace noted.
The royalty couple, both 32, welcomed their first child, Prince George, in July 2013.
