Ryan Reynolds' wife Blake Lively has spoken about her acting career and the upcoming movie "Age of Adaline," which is her first movie after "Gossip Girl" ended in 2012 in her recent interview with Fashion Magazine beauty director Lesa Hannah.
In the interview, Lively admitted she really wanted some time to herself after "Gossip Girl" and to focus on other things that she loved, so that when she did acting again, she would be "really re-invigorated."
"And it took a movie that I really couldn't say 'no' to, you know, because there's plenty that I would have done, but it was really important to have that time. So when I read that one, I said, 'I can't not be in this movie, I have to do this movie,'" Lively said about "Age Of Adaline."
The 27-year-old actress and model also revealed she did not want to be an actor and she avoided Hollywood at first because she thought it was a bad industry.
"It was just that my whole family did it and I wanted to do something different. I was the youngest of five kids and I wanted to create my own path and my own sort of legacy," she explained.
On Sept. 9, Lively and Reynolds will celebrate their second wedding anniversary. The two got married in Charleston, S.C. in 2012, SFGate reported.
While she and Reynolds have yet to have a child, she has six nieces and nephews so children for her are really what "gets her heart going."
In 2013, Lively visited a Sudbury hospital.
"I've spent time at St. Jude's in the States and so any chance I get to go to a children's hospital, I do. I try to do that in a way that's it's on a more personal level, but that one became sort of a public thing that we didn't intend, but it's great to do that," the "Age Of Adaline" actress explained.
Directed by Lee Toland Krieger, "Age Of Adaline" will be released on Jan. 23, 2015, Celebuzz reported.
Blake Lively's full interview is to appear in the October issue of Fashion Magazine.
