Country superstar Garth Brooks recently launched his own digital music store, GhostTunes.
On Thursday, September 4, Brooks confirmed his recent venture and revealed that all of his songs will be available on his own online music provider, according to Aceshowbiz.
"Today, with all the scared-ness in my soul, all the love in my heart for music, an alternative for digital music sale is online right now," he said in a statement.
Brooks also explained how GhostTunes will be different from several other music services, the same publication noted.
"First, the music is however the artist on the label that owns that artists' work wants it sold. Second, it doesn't go on the 70-30 split that digital music is on right now, it's on a much more flexible scale. You can play it on any device you want the second you get it. So no more territorial stuff," he explained.
Brooks also explained his motivation behind creating the said label, Entertainment Wise reported.
"When I decided it was time to go digital, I didn't find an existing way that really fit how I wanted to do it. I shared my dream with some amazing minds and together have created something really special. Music history is about to change. This is gonna be awesome. There's a new window opening and digital music is coming, and I'm very proud to be a part of it," he said.
Back in July and prior to its launch, Brooks also talked about his digital venture and said, "People are going to mistake it for giving it away. But I'm not. There's gonna be a window coming with this digital era for anyone who's waited for Garth Brooks to go digital to get it all - and at a stupid price."
Meanwhile, the 52-year-old country powerhouse recently reunited with his fans on the road after more than a decade of absence, the Daily Mail noted.
During his gig in Chicago, Brooks shouted at his fans and said, "You come back, you come back! I could not ask for a better start than this, people!"
