"Taken" star Liam Neeson said he's willing to reprise his role as Ra's Al Ghul for the third season of the DC television series "Arrow," IGN reported.
In July of this year, cast members of "Arrow" revealed through a trailer that the comic book villain will make his television debut on the show. However, no revelations were made as to who will play the character, according to Hitfix.
Neeson brought the comic book character to life in the 2005 film "Batman Begins" directed by Christopher Nolan. As the leader of the League of Shadows, Ra's trained Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne into what he would become.
While promoting his upcoming film "A Walk Among the Tombstones," MTV News asked Neeson if the production team of "Arrow" has approached him to be the actor behind Ra's.
Unfortunately, he hasn't been asked yet but given the opportunity, Neeson said he would take on the role without thinking twice.
"No, I haven't [been asked], I haven't at all," the actor said. "I would [do it], in a heartbeat, if it came my way, yeah. Very much so."
If, however, Neeson doesn't get the role, he has an important piece of advice for the actor who will get the part.
According to Neeson, it is important for the actor who will play Ra's in the show to truly believe in the character's philosophy.
In both the comics and Nolan's film, Ra's was portrayed as a criminal mastermind who wants to create a utopian society by eradicating the corrupt nature of cities through mass annihilation. The character and the League of Shadows usually use biological weapons to "cleanse" cities.
"They have to believe in their philosophy," Neeson said. "Ra's al Ghul absolutely believed what he was doing was ultimately saving civilization, and it was quite a good argument he comes up with."
"Throughout the ages this fraternity, that brought the plague to wipe out a section of mankind because it needed to be regenerated again," he added. "Very dangerous, but you have to believe it."
