Young Jeezy Arrested On Weapons Charge After A Man Was Killed At Wiz Khalifa Concert

Hip hop artist Young Jeezy was arrested on weapons charges Sunday, Aug. 24, following a shooting incident that killed a man at Wiz Khalifa's concert last week, New York Daily News reported.

The 36-year-old rapper was held on $1 million bail Monday, Aug. 25, for possession of an assault weapon, which turned up during the investigation of the deadly shooting at Khalifa's concert Friday, Aug. 22, at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, Calif., according to TMZ.

Jeezy, whose real name is Jay Wayne Jenkins, was rounded up Sunday for suspicion of possession of an assault weapon at the Verizon Amphitheatre in Irvine, Calif., the final stop of the national "Under the Influence of Music Tour," which featured Khalifa as the headliner, New York Daily News reported.

He was then arrested with five others after police executed a search warrant on his tour bus as part of the probe into the murder of 38-year-old Eric Johnson, who was shot multiple times around 11 p.m. Friday backstage at the Khalifa concert in Mountain View, Calif.

Mountain View police emphasized that Jeezy was detained only on suspicion of possession of illegal weapons and insisted that no one has been arrested yet for the murder.

Aside from Jeezy, Kena Marshall, 39; Peter Maynard, 38; David Kuniansky-Altman, 31; William Gilmore, 46; and Alexa Beason, 52, were also charged with suspicion of possession of an assault weapon, the San Jose Mercury News reported.

Jeezy was being held in the Orange County jail pending a court appearance Tuesday, NBC News noted.

Back in January, Jeezy was also arrested on charges stemming from a domestic incident involving his teenage son in Atlanta. In 2008, he was also arrested on DUI charge, and in 2005, he was charged with carrying a concealed firearm, but later had the charge dismissed, according to San Jose Mercury News.

Because of his latest run in with the police, Jeezy was unable to perform at the Verizon Amphitheatre in Irvine, Calif. Sunday, AllHipHop reported.
