Robin Williams' family has confirmed that the late actor's body has already been cremated and his ashes were scattered over the San Francisco Bay on August 12.
Williams' death certificate has also been released but the actor's cause of death is dubbed as "pending investigation" since toxicology test results have not yet been unveiled, according to Bustle.
The actor's death certificate was officially released on August 20, a few days after he was found dead in his home in the Tiburon, California, which is located in Marin County on August 11, Radar Online noted.
Multiple sources previously revealed that Williams was found hanged in his closet with a belt but such cause of death was not yet mentioned on his death certificate.
A source previously dished that the "Mrs. Doubtfire" actor has a special fondness and attachment to the place and its community, the Hollywood Life reported.
"His family's here, his children, and he was a real leader in the community and extremely charitable to different organizations here too. I'm sure he'd want his final resting place to here in the bay. He could have lived anywhere on the planet, but wanted to be here. It's only fitting he'd be buried or spread somewhere in the bay," the source told the publication.
Meanwhile, Williams will also be featured on Monday night's Emmy Awards with the help of his good friend and fellow comedian Billy Crystal.
A source told Hollywood Life that the tribute would be huge and suggested that the actor's family might be present during the show's In Memoriam segment.
"The family has been invited. They most likely aren't going to join Billy Crystal on stage and have not decided if they want to attend. They want the night to be about Robin and his memory and they are under the impression that if they are there, it may take away from what Billy and the show has lined up for the tribute," the source dished.
