Former "American Idol" contest William Hung may have not had a successful career in the music industry, but at least he got his girlfriend to say yes to spending a lifetime with him.
The season 3 contestant on the singing reality show recently got married to his long-time girlfriend in Alhambra, California, according to RumorFix.
Hung, 31, currently works as an administrative assistant for the L.A. County Department of Public Health but prior to his current job, the aspiring singer won the hearts of millions of Americans after he auditioned on "American Idol" back in 2004, Yahoo reported.
At that time, the very positive and witty Hung received mean comments from resident judge Simon Cowell but he still kept an outstanding attitude through it all.
During his audition, Hung performed Ricky Martin's song "She Bangs." Cowell told him at that time, "You can't sing, you can't dance, so what do you want me to say?"
Hung replied and said, "I already gave my best and I have no regrets at all." Paul Abdul, another former "American Idol" judge commended him for his attitude and said, "That's the best attitude yet."
Following his controversial audition, Hung was able to release three albums that sold 200,000, 35,000 and 75,000 copies respectively, the same publication noted.
Around that time, Hung released an official statement thanking his fans for their unwavering support, the Daily Mail noted.
"I really appreciate all of the support I have received from my fans around the world. I couldn't succeed without you. I also want to encourage you to pursue your dreams, persevere and to work hard at what you're passionate about... then you'll be living a life without regrets," he wrote.
Hung's musical career spanned from 2004 to 2011 and shortly after, he was nowhere to be found. But on June 17, Hung got married to his girlfriend, whose name has not been disclosed as of late.
