Actress Adrianna Palicki has been tapped to join the cast of Marvel's "Agents of Shield," where she will be taking on the role of superhero Mockingbird.
This is not the first time that the "Friday Night Lights" star will be taking on the role of a superhero. Back in 2011, she played the prestigious character of Wonder Woman on NBC, according to TV Guide.
Palicki will be playing the role of agent superspy Bobbi Morse, also known as Mockingbird and she will appear on season two's fifth episode.
As of late, there are no news yet whether or not she will be given a recurring role throughout the entire second season, The Hollywood Reporter noted.
Palicki's role as the Mockingbird guarantees that she will be a fan favorite since the role in itself has always been extremely popular among fans, according to the NY Daily News.
The 31-year-old actress will be joining other newcomers this season including Kyle McLachlan, who will be playing the role of Skye's father, Lucy Lawless as Isabelle Hartly, Reed Diamond as Hydra villain Daniel Whitehall, also known as Kraken and Nick Blood as a mercenary, the NY Daily News reported.
Actor Henry Simmons will take on the role of Alphonso "Mac" Mackenzie and Simon Kassianides will play the role of Bakshi.
Palicki's previous credits include a short stint on last season's "About a Boy," "Red Dawn" and "G.I. Joe: Retaliation."
Meanwhile, "Agents of Shield" first premiered on ABC last year. The series follows the life of agent Phil Coulson, played by actor Clark Gregg.
Coulson survived and continued his work as a Shield agent, which was contrary to 2012's portrayal of his character in the movie "The Avengers," according to Big News Network.
"Agents of Shield," which also stars Ming-Na Wen, received an even greater following towards the second half of its first season.
Season 2 will premiere on September 23 on ABC.
