Johnny Depp To Start Filming 'Alice In Wonderland: Through The Looking Glass' Following 'Mordecai' Trailer Release

After the release of the trailer of “Mordecai,” Johnny Depp is set to start filming another film entitled “Alice In Wonderland: Through The Looking Glass,” in which he plays Mad Hatter.

On the first day of filming, areas at Southgate Moorings Car Park at Gloucester Docks in the United Kingdom have been closed, Gloucester Citizen reported.

Ships were also spotted starting to dock at the Waterways Museum, causing fans to speculate the film will end with Alice disappearing after being taken away in a boat.

Fans were gathered in an attempt to catch a glimpse of the stars of the film, including Anne Hathaway as White Queen, Helena Bonham Carter as Red Queen, Sacha Baron Cohen as Time, and Rhys Ifans as Zanik Hightopp among others.

However, the fans were not able to see Depp in Gloucester since the actor was not required for the scenes being shot on the first filming day.

The actors spotted were Mia Wasikowska as Alice Kingsleugh, Lindsay Duncan as and Ed Speleers as James Harcourt, Coming Soon reported.

Also voicing characters in the film are Michael Sheen, Alan Rickman, Stephen Fry, Toby Jones, Timothy Spall, Barbara Windsor and Paul Whitehouse.

Directed by James Bobin, “Alice In Wonderland: Through The Looking Glass” is set to be released on May 27, 2016.

On the other hand, “Mordecai” will be released on February 6, 2015, according to Hallels.

In the action-comedy film, Depp plays the titular character Charlie Mortdecai, a debonair art dealer who has a mission to recover a stolen painting that reportedly has the hidden code to a lost bank account filled with Nazi gold.

Directed by David Koepp, “Mordecai” also stars Gwyneth Paltrow, Ewan McGregor, Olivia Munn, Jeff Goldblum, Oliver Platt, Carly Steel, Jamie Bernadette, Ronnie Rodriguez, Paul Bettany and Alec Utgoff among others.

While “Alice In Wonderland: Through The Looking Glass” revisits Lewis Carroll’s stories, “Mordecai” is based on Kyril Bonfiglioli’s novel series particularly on “The Great Mordecai Moustache Mystery” part.
