Love is in the air! "The Big Bang Theory" star Jim Parsons allegedly proposed to his boyfriend of 12 years, Todd Spiewak, after inking a deal for $1m per episode of the ratings machine. Congrats to the happy couple!
Parsons, who plays Sheldon Cooper on the CBS sitcom, threatened to walk off the set with co-stars Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco to receive more money. They were originally making $325k per episode.
After the raise, art director Spiewak, who has long wanted to marry Parsons, made a shocking revelation.
"He told [Jim] he felt like they were just treading water in their relationship," a source told the National Enquirer.
Parsons "finally told Todd, 'The thought of losing you is scarier than anything I can imagine,' and he asked Todd to marry him!"
The actor reportedly wanted to wait until he was financially stable to pop the question.
Ellen DeGeneres pressured him in May on her show about marrying his longtime boyfriend.
"I don't know. That's a hard one. You get used to your life as it is," he explained to the talk show host.
"But it gets better when you're married, it really does. Don't think that it doesn't," DeGeneres teased.
"I don't think that it doesn't," he replied.
"Eleven years is enough time to know!"
"The Big Bang Theory" actor plays Sheldon Cooper in the award-winning series. He came out in 2012 to The New York Times.
"He's watching - Todd," Parsons continued.
"I'm not saying he's been discouraging it. I'm not. I feel like I haven't been enthusiastic enough about it and I feel like I'm a loser for the cause."
"That's why I brought you here," she joked. "To make you feel like that. My goal is to make you feel bad about yourself and bring you down."
