Gwyneth Paltrow Talks Perfection On GOOP Lifestyle Site

Gwyneth Paltrow appears perfect in the public eye, but after 41 years the mother of two is taking things down a notch. The "Iron Man" actress, who consciously uncoupled from Chris Martin last year, shared her opinions on perfection in a post on her lifestyle site, GOOP.

"Striving for achieving a sense of perfection has been a misguided belief in my life, often leading me down the wrong path," Paltrow wrote.

"It has made me, at times, place value on the wrong things. It has made me not listen to my true self for fear that I would somehow fail in another's eyes. I was curious as to how the idea of perfection has become so pervasive in our society, how it begins, how it hurts us and perhaps, even, if it carries a certain benefit."

The blonde beauty continued, "Where does this idea that we need to be perfect come from?"

"How can we come to terms with (and find the beauty in) imperfection?"

Paltrow is not afraid to share her opinions, which always seem to raise eyebrows. We told you in June she tried to defend that water had feelings.

"I am fascinated by the growing science behind the energy of consciousness and its effects on matter," Paltrow wrote. "I have long had Dr. Emoto's coffee table book on how negativity changes the structure of water, how the molecules behave differently depending on the words or music being expressed around it."

The star was spotted last month with a new man in New York at Narcissa in East Village, after it appeared she could reconcile with Martin.

"He had curly, shaggy hair and looked like he was in his 30s. I think they may have been holding hands," an eyewitness told Page Six at the time.
