90's sweetheart Katie Holmes had a major life change two years ago. She split from Hollywood heartthrob Tom Cruise and moved daughter Suri into Manhattan. She stopped by "Today" to promote new flick "The Giver," and revealed she never looks back.
"I never really look back," Holmes confessed. "I just approach life one day at a time. I'm excited about where I am right now, this movie...I've had some really wonderful creative experiences. I am just excited about the future."
Speaking of her upcoming role in "The Giver," the actress explained, "I approached it like all mothers when their child is leaving the nest. There's a pain. There's a loss."
The former "Dawson's Creek" star receives help from her family when it comes to raising Suri, who she attempts to keep out of the spotlight.
"I think, of course, you try your best," Holmes said. "I try very hard because I am very grateful for my upbringing and my parents and siblings. I try to do what they did for me for my little one."
"The most important thing for me is letting her know how proud I am and that her accomplishments mean everything," she continued. "Whatever I do is whatever. It's really just about her and that's what I think is most important."
The beautiful star also revealed she may return to the small screen as her next venture.
"TV right now is a great place to tell stories," Holmes said. "There are so many opportunities to tell any kind of story. You can now stream so much online that it's become a great medium for communicating to the masses."
