It looks like Pippa Middleton has decided to reveal her diet secrets that keep her in tip top shape. The 30-year-old recently participated in the Bosphorus Cross Continental Swimming Race in Istanbul and shared her healthy eating habits.
According to E! News, Kate Middleton's little sister told Hello! Magazine about the types of foods she ate to prepare for the big athletic event.
Nico Jackson'a girlfriend explained that "wholesome carbs," like quinoa, brown rice and lentils, were essential for preparing for the race.
Pippa Middleton admitted, "To maintain energy I try to eat more protein, particularly fish or chicken," adding, "A lot of people swear by carb-loading in the run-up to an event but it doesn't really work for me, so I just up my protein intake."
It seems that the Vanity Fair columnist's high-protein diet worked seeing as she completed the Bosphorus race in one hour and five minutes, beating her brother James Middleton.
Pippa joked, "He said if he'd shaved, he would have beaten me," adding, "Nothing could have prepared me for the experience of the race itself in Istanbul...The swim requires not only speed and athleticism but also the nous to navigate yourself on the right course."
Back in June, the socialite gave her first television interview and couldn't help but gush about her family, particularly her sister, the Duchess of Cambridge and her nephew Prince George.
When Pippa Middleton, 30, was asked if Kate's, 32, status as a royal has affected their sibling bond she said, "Not particularly. I mean, obviously she has pressures that she's taken on and things, but we spend a lot of time together. We still do a lot together as a family.
"And I think that's sort of the heart for all of us, having a really close family. We can sort of be normal with each other, treat each other normally, and that's sort of kept us all fixed to the ground."
When the host brought up her nephew, the brunette beauty couldn't help but smile. When asked what it is like to be an aunt she smiled and said, "It's wonderful," adding, "He's amazing. He's a very, very dear boy. And he's brought a lot of pleasure and fun for all of us, the whole family."
When speaking of the heir to throne who turned one on July 22nd Pippa Middleton said, "He's very characterful," adding, "He's sort of brought us all together, and we love spending weekends with him. He's very funny."
