In the past Blake Lively has praised Martha Stewart for saving her "disaster" of a wedding to Ryan Reynolds, leaving fans to wonder how the "Gossip Girl" star knows the lifestyle expert. Well, the 72-year-old decided to reveal just how she became friends with the 26-year-old actress.
According to Us Weekly, Stewart told the Huffington Post that she became fast friends with the blonde beauty after Lively and Reynolds became her neighbors.
The homemaker inspiration explained, "She moved into my neighborhood a couple of years ago with Ryan -- before they got married, they bought a house right around the corner from my house. And they started to come over, not to borrow sugar, but just as friends."
Martha Stewart revealed that the couple, who eventually moved to "another place which is more private [but still nearby]," are "very friendly, very nice people."
She continued, "In a way, [Blake's] kind of shy -- not shy on the screen, at all, if you've seen any of Blake's movies -- but very shy in person," adding, "But she's a baker and a homemaker and now she's starting her own blog [Preserve] ... I haven't seen it yet."
When asked how she feels about the "Age of Adaline" actress trying her hand at the lifestyle business and "becoming the next Martha Stewart," she said, "Let her try."
Laughing off what seems like a rude comment about Blake Lively she said, "I don't mean that facetiously!"
She joked, "I mean, it's stupid, she could be an actress! Why would you want to be me if you could be an actress? I just did a movie yesterday, though -- I can't even tell you about it -- but I want to be Blake Lively," she joked.
Stewart confessed that despite her fame there are still a few celebrities that put her into total fan girl mode.
She explained, "Every day I get starstruck by somebody or something," adding, "It's fun to admire and to learn from people who are better at everything than you are, so I have many heroes I worship, like Derek Jeter -- I can't play baseball like Derek Jeter! And Beyonce -- I certainly can't dance and sing like Beyonce!"
