'Glee' Season 6 Cast Spoilers Preview Less Episodes as 2015 Premiere Date Nears: Cory Monteith's Girlfriend Lea Michele and Naya Rivera will See Less Screen Time as Fox Series is Set for Finale

It looks fans are going to have to look at the bright side of things seeing as "Glee" season 6 aka the show's final season was trimmed from twenty two to thirteen episodes. However, Fox's Chairman and CEO Peter Rice insisted that "Glee" will "go out in a way that celebrates it."

According to E! News, during an interview at the 2014 Summer TCA Press Tour on Sunday he said, "I think Glee is one of the great shows in television history...it was so hot and so big," adding that the network "assumed it was going to fail" before it premiered in 2009.

Rice explained, "It touched so many hearts and it brought social issues to floor and it burned so hot and so fast."

Rice also revealed the silver lining that comes with a shortened season. As the result of a shorter season, the episodes will air in a straight-run with no breaks.

He revealed, "We want to go out in way that celebrates it," adding, "We thought that a final 13 episodes and compacting it and doing it in a straight-run was a better way to finish the show."

In the final season of "Glee" which is set to air in 2015, fans can expect to see a time-jump and a shift away from New York.

They will also see less of Naya Rivera as her role on the show has been reduced and she will no longer be a series regular.

However, Ryan Murphy is hoping to see some familiar face grace the show in their last season. He previously said, "My feeling about the last season of Glee is very clear, and that is that we will be reaching out to all of the regulars on the show, that original group of Glee club members and the teachers, and anybody who wants to come back can come back. Anybody who wants to be a part of the show, we welcome them."

"Glee" season 6 will air midseason on Fox.
