Amal Alamuddin’s Mother Feels Hot Lawyer Can Do Better Than Fiancé George Clooney

This could be challenging for George Clooney! Hollywood's former most eligible bachelor met his match in human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin....but her mother is not happy about it! The mother of the bride, Baria Alamuddin, feels her daughter can do better, and wanted her to marry within their Lebanese religious sect.

"You would think Amal has hit the jackpot with George Clooney, but Baria is not happy," a source told Mail Online.

"She thinks Amal can do better. She has been telling half of Beirut, in fact anyone that will listen, there are five hundred thousand Druze. Are none of them good enough for her?"

Alamuddin is part of the respected Druze sect, who are forbidden to marry outsiders. Punishments for doing so include social boycott and excommunication. Women have even been murdered for marrying outside the sect, and one Sunni Muslim man had his penis severed by Druze male relatives when he married into the family against their wishes.

"There have been a few jokes in the family about the same thing happening to George!" the source added.

If the couple has children, they will not be able to participate in Alamuddin's religion, and she will be "leaving the community" when she marries Clooney. A civil wedding could provide a loophole, letting her keep her religion.

They are said to marry around September 12 in Lake Como, where Clooney met her parents for the first time in June.

"They were outside, and Amal and her mom were smiling. It was going pretty great," a source told People of the visit.

"Amal's mom left the next day, and at the airport they just looked so happy."

We hope Baria comes around for her daughter and future son-in-law! Do you agree? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
