Was the Daytime Emmy Awards an epic failure? Well, following the airing of the Primetime Emmy Awards' less glamorous relative which took place in Beverly Hills on Sunday night, June 22nd, some are deeming the show a disaster.
According to Us Weekly, the 41st annual awards show streamed exclusively online for the first time in the show's history.
The ceremony was called a "disaster" and "trainwreck" by the Washington Post and TVLine.
The reports claimed that out of the constraints of television standards, the ceremony was full of profanities and many winners did not even bother to show up to accept their awards. The red carpet pre-show even featured a distasteful rape joke.
Aside from that the 2014 winners included the likes of Steve Harvey, Ellen DeGeneres and Bobby Flay. The long running soap opera, "The Young and the Restless" also took home plenty of wins from its category.
