Jovani Fashion has announced its decision to tread a new path by featuring at the Brooklyn Fashion Week Sept. 28 at Sunset Park. The event is a small collection runway show and Jovani will be featuring in it for the first time. The fashion house will also pay homage to their design studio in Brooklyn. This announcement comes right on the heels of the New York Fashion Week.
“It [Brooklyn] has become an epicenter for all things creative, such as art and fashion. Many industry people that we work with either live or spend a lot of time in Brooklyn, and it’s nice that we can take our designs outside of Manhattan,” says Abraham Maslavi, president and CEO of Jovani Fashions.
Over the four days of the fashion week, Jovani will bring emerging local, national and international designers to the fore. The runway show will feature ready to wear, eco-friendly and couture designers who will display rich couture pieces and trendy styles.
Editors and stylists present at the show will be able to interact with the head designer of Jovani Fashion and request for pieces from the new collection.
Jovani Fashions is a New York-based fashion house which was founded in 1983 by father-son team, Jacob and Saul Maslavi. Now, the brand is run by Maslavi brothers, Saul and Abraham. Renowned for its evening dresses and couture gowns, the brand sells to over 3,000 specialty stores, and can also be found in department stores like Nordstrom, Bloomingdales and more.
Jovani is extremely popular with celebs like Katy Perry, the Kardashian sisters, Paris Hilton and Rachel Holder, to name a few.
Gowns and evening dresses by Jovani are chic and trendy. Their collection is unique and comes in intricate designs with minutely sequined work on them, making it perfect for special occasions. The sequins add to the charm of the dresses, giving it that little dose of required ‘bling’, without making it too glitzy or over-the-top.
The event includes a silent auction at 7 p.m., along with a special cocktail reception. VIP ticket holders will have access to a red carpet celebrity reception. Part of sale proceeds from tickets will go to a number of philanthropic organizations led by the Brooklyn Style Foundation.
